First of all a Merry Christmas to anyone still out there! Hehe, and a Happy New Year with 09 just around the corner.
Can't believe how time flies, 2008 is almost finito I have hardly blogged in the last 5-6 months. Appreciated the uber patient people who still come to view it though! =) Believe you me, I have been meaning to, just never gotten around to it.
Hopefully everyone who was entitled to a payrise and bonuses for the year was happy with what they got. Not that I like to be the bearer of the bad news, if not already obvious for some, the good ol economic cycle is finally coming through to lil NZ and next year is going to be hard hard times ahead. As we are further away from most countries, we are only starting to see companies fall over, more people getting declared bankrupt. With that also we may see a few of the good ol get rich quick pyramid schemes popping up. Already in the Herald there was a ATM skimming scandal where customers of the National Bank and just recently some BNZ as well where their money was taken. I thought this was already dealt with when this first popped up a while ago, but I guess not as apparently the total so far has been in the hundreds of thousands and increasing. So just beware of what's going on out there at the moment.
As for me, looking forward to resuming some squash in 2009, and hopefully some football and perhaps even... dare I say it... BADMINTON! Man I miss that soo much, but these days trying to find people to play REGULARLY is like trying to get Malaysia to admit the country is in dire straits, ain't gonna happen if you know what I mean.
Anyhoo, hopefully that this is a better start to the blog for the future year and hopefully everyone does not lose their job security. Speaking of, my colleague's sister in the UK, had to take a .... deep breath... $10,000.00 POUND pay cut!
So heres to buying stocks on the cheap as it would be a good time to buy if you have the spare cash and watch out for that oil price! Me thinks mid next year it may start going up again, again its to be expected... its all in that cycle.
